Course Descriptions



Introduction to Zavanta (Overview)
This class is a kick-off session that covers what Zavanta is all about -- its business applications and capabilities. Also included is an introduction to the implementation process. The intended audience is anyone is the organization including executives, managers, and any Zavanta user. The general concepts presented in the session are prerequisites for the other classes.

Basic Authoring
This class is intended for anyone who will be adding/editing/contributing content to the Zavanta database. Typically the audience for this class will be the subject experts, process owners, and task experts. The topics include basic authoring features, how to use Pick Lists, how to map out steps, and how to generate output results. Also included is a general overview of the difference between common content types such as policy, process, procedure.

Basic Authoring (Lecture and Hands on Lab)
This class includes the lecture and a follow-on session in which students perform hands-on exercises.

Zavanta Web Basics
This class is intended for users designated as administrators and “webmasters” at the client site who will be overseeing the design and management of the web output. The session gives an overview of web basics, terminology, website setup, customizing the look and feel of web pages. It also give an overview of Zavanta’s website automation and process flow.

Zavanta Web (Lecture and Hands on Lab)
This class includes the lecture portion in addition to a follow-on lab session in which students will perform exercises that reinforce the concepts covered in the lecture.

Zavanta System Setup and Administration
This class is intended for administrators, managers, and power users who will be responsible for Zavanta implementation and defining system preferences and standards. This class also covers all Zavanta utilities such as Check In / Check Out and maintenance features.

Zavanta System Setup and Administration (Lecture and Hands on Lab)
This class includes the lecture portion in addition to a follow-on lab session in which students will perform exercises that reinforce the concepts covered in the lecture.

Zavanta Content Overlay Designer
This class is intended for administrators and power users who would be creating or customizing Content Overlays. You will learn how to create new screens, set data entry rules, assign properties to fields, create customized Advice and more. Topics include creating, editing, managing, and versioning Content Overlays.

Zavanta Content Overlay Designer (Lecture and Hands on Lab)
This class includes the lecture portion in addition to a follow-on lab session in which students perform hands-on exercises.

Zavanta Security (Lecture Only)
This class is intended for system administrators who will be responsible for defining user groups and security permissions. Topics covered include setting up user groups, defining program security permissions as well as who can and who cannot access specific content. The class will also demonstrate how to tailor the Zavanta interface for specific types of users.
